Dental Bridges in Lancaster, CA

A dental bridge is a reliable and long-lasting solution for replacing one or more missing teeth. This restorative treatment works by anchoring an artificial tooth between adjacent teeth or dental implants, effectively closing the gap left by tooth loss and restoring the appearance of a complete smile.

Missing teeth can impact more than just your appearance. They may affect your ability to chew comfortably, speak clearly, and maintain proper alignment of surrounding teeth. Dental bridges help restore normal function while also supporting your overall oral health.

At our Lancaster dental office, we provide custom dental bridges designed to blend naturally with your existing teeth, helping you regain confidence and comfort in your smile.

“Our goal is to treat you with the best quality care to ensure your dental needs and oral health.”

Benefits of Dental Bridges

Dental bridges are commonly recommended to:

  • Prevent nearby teeth from shifting into empty spaces

  • Distribute bite forces evenly to reduce dental strain

  • Maintain the natural shape of the face

  • Improve chewing and speaking ability

  • Restore the look and function of a full smile

Types of Bridges

Dental bridges typically consist of one or more artificial teeth, known as pontics, which are supported by crowns or implants on either side of the gap. These supporting teeth, called abutments, help anchor the bridge securely in place.

Pontics are commonly crafted from tooth-colored porcelain for a natural appearance or porcelain-fused-to-metal for added durability, depending on the patient’s needs and treatment goals.

What to Expect

If Dr. Stein determines that a dental bridge is the right solution for you, treatment can begin with a carefully planned process.

First, the supporting teeth are prepared by reshaping them slightly to allow space for the crowns that will hold the bridge in place. This step ensures a comfortable fit and natural appearance.

Next, impressions of the prepared teeth are taken and sent to a dental lab, where your custom bridge is created. During this time, a temporary bridge may be placed to protect the area. This phase typically takes one to two weeks.

At your follow-up visit, the temporary bridge is removed and replaced with your permanent restoration. The bridge is adjusted for comfort and function, then securely bonded to complete the treatment.

With proper oral hygiene and regular dental visits, a dental bridge can last 10 to 15 years or longer.
